Home to 861 (2021), Swan Reach is a small town on the Princes Highway between Bairnsdale and Lakes Entrance.

Swan Reach has a great little General Store (including a Post Office that is open on Saturdays and Sundays), which is also a licensed bottle shop. Across the road is Swan Reach Service Station, which usually has well-priced fuel and is very convenient if you're heading towards Bairnsdale.

Flowing through Swan Reach is the immaculate Tambo River, which has Little River (in Ensay) and Timbarra River as its tributaries. In recent years, many have chosen to relocate to Swan Reach because it is very central to Bairnsdale, Lakes Entrance, Metung and Bruthen. Town properties are in high demand as are acreages.

Other points of interest are the Swan Reach Holiday Park and nearby Tambo Winery. Swan Reach even has a local gin distillery, which is very popular.
